The annual World Poetry in Translation, a celebration of poetry across languages and cultures, hosted by The Literatures and Languages Library, will take place on Thursday, Apr. 9, 3-5pm, in Main Library 106!
Participants can read an original, published poem in any language, along with its translation to or from English. Whether you are sharing a beloved classic, a contemporary piece, or your own creative work (if published), this event offers a space to explore how meaning, rhythm, and imagery travel between languages.
Come experience the beauty of multilingual expression and the art of translation. All languages are welcome.
Let your voice be heard in the language that moves you most!
To participate, email Paula Carns (pcarns@illinois.edu) and Marek Sroka (msroka@illinois.edu), with the title/language of the poem(s) by March 25, 2026.
