TIS will host the next TIS Career Talks: Exploring the World of Interpreting, on Tuesday, October 21, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This interactive session will feature two accomplished M.A. in Translation & Interpreting alumni who have built successful careers in diverse interpreting contexts – from conference halls and hospitals to courtrooms and classrooms. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the day-to-day realities, challenges and rewards of professional interpreting.

The guest speakers are:

  • Razan Roumany (MA, 2022) — English–Spanish/Arabic Conference and Medical Interpreter
Since earning her MA in 2022, Roumany has worked as a simultaneous and medical interpreter in English, Arabic, and Spanish. She was recently featured on the Brand the Interpreter podcast, where she discussed her journey into the profession and the role of multilingualism in building intercultural understanding.
  • Hebba Adulsaad (MA, 2023) — Certified English–Arabic Court and Medical Interpreter
With more than 25 years of experience, Adulsaad is a certified court and medical interpreter, translator, educator, and Egyptology lecturer. She has led more than 1,000 educational and cultural programs throughout the Middle East, Europe, and the United States, and is passionate about bridging linguistic and cultural divides through her work. Based in the southeastern U.S., she continues to interpret, teach Arabic as a foreign language, and give public lectures on Egyptian history and culture.

Together, Roumany and Adulsaad will share their professional journeys, lessons learned and practical advice for those interested in pursuing interpreting as a career. The event will conclude with a Q&A session, giving attendees the opportunity to engage directly with both speakers.
